    • A day trip in Drenthe

    The following tips are just a small selection of the many excursions you can make in the area. Of course there are several amusement parks, museums and swimming pools. Don't miss the "Hunebedden" either! For more information and brochures, please contact the reception. Play forests, walks through the woods? Building huts on the heath? Getting lost in a maize maze? Visiting one of the play forests and the adventure trails? For children, these places are a paradise. The adventure trails are about one kilometre long and are located in Veeningen, Koekangerveld, Ruinen en Echten.

    Beautiful villages and towns in the area

    Echten
    "Village of Tradition". Echten has much to offer in terms of cultural history, archaeology and natural history and architecture. You can visit among others: Huize Echten, a 14th century manor house. Het Huus mit de Belle (information and exhibition room) Info: 't Huus mit de Belle, Zuidwolderweg 2a, 7932 PP Echten. Tel. 0031-528 25 08 06. You can also ask for a guided tour of the village. Tea Time, an English tea room, Ruinerweg 4, 7932 PD Echten. Landgoedwinckel, a shop with character. 1500 metres from the park. Also visit the beautiful green woods of the paradise of Echten.

    Giethoorn
    Discover the beautiful Giethoorn by boat or canoe. Or take a walk through this very special village.

    Zuidwolde
    Museumboerderij De Wemme (Museum farm). Thermal sauna Zuidwolde pampers body and soul.

    Hoogeveen
    Hoogeveen Airport. Korenmolen (grain mill) de Zwaluw. "Pulledagen": six Thursdays in July and August (during the Dutch school holidays/North), street festival with various events. Weekly market on Saturday and Thursday mornings. Zwembad de Dolfijn (swimming pool, opening hours available at reception).

    Meppel
    Beautiful old town. Pancake ship de Liberte. Graphic museum. Weekly market, every Thursday morning. On Thursdays there is Donderdag Meppeldag in summer (during Dutch school holidays/North), big street party and various events, live music at many street cafés in the evening.

    Ruinen
    Brink evenings, folklore evenings with demonstrations of traditional crafts and Old Dutch games. Every Wednesday evening in July and August (during the Dutch school holidays/North) from 19:00.     Boomkroonpad
    Steenhopenweg 4, 9533 PN Drouwen. Phone: 0031-592 37 73 05. In the woods near Borger you will find a special way to enjoy nature. You can take a walk through the treetops. The treetops are connected by bridges.

    Drouwenerzand Attractiepark (Amusement Park)

The special thing about "Drouwenerzand Attractiepark", is that in addition to all the attractions, chips, snacks, fresh soup, coffee, tea, lemonade, fresh fruit and ice cream are included in the admission price. The attractions and play equipment are carefully selected, especially for children aged 3 and over.

    Kabouterland Exloo
    Zuiderhoofdstraat 11, 7875 BW Exloo. Telephone: 0031-591 54 98 43. In the middle of the village of Exloo in Drenthe lies Kabouterland. Here you can have a day of fun with: Dwarves, trolls and animals. There are also various playgrounds both indoors and outdoors.

    Veenpark

You board a train that takes you into the world of the moors. You can see how the peat digger digs for peat with his bare hands.

    Speel and IJsboerderij "De Drentse Koe" (Adventure Farm)
    Wolddijk 23, 7961 NA Ruinerwold. Telephone: 0031-6 40 41 88 28. Not far from our park is the adventure farm Speel and IJsboerderij "De Drentse Koe". Here you can see through a window how a robot milks cows. This milk is used to make delicious ice cream from exclusively natural ingredients. Your children can have fun to their heart's content in the adventure farm and the play barn, while you enjoy a cup of coffee on the terrace.

    Wonderwereld Ter Apel
